Tamara Thorn Biography

For more than a decade, Tamara Thorn nurtured the seeds of Heal Thyself in the soil of an adventurous life.

When traditional medicine failed her firstborn in 2004, Tamara opened her eyes to a wider and more complete world of healing. Reiki, massage therapy, Bodytalk and other disciplines became part of her daily practice. She and little Zarek sought spiritual balance roaming the country in a biofueled school bus and finding homes in intentional communities. There, in the open forests and shared kitchens, Tamara apprenticed with skilled raw foodists who shaped her passion for organic, vegan eating. Traveling Mexico with a nomadic horse caravan, she practiced low-impact living, taught environmental education to schoolchildren and helped towns build biodigestors. And, on a friend’s 2.5-acre farm, she learned by trial and error to continue that earth-first mission in the vegetable — and later cannabis — garden.

This remarkable journey showed Tamara, now a mother of two, her true purpose: Sharing the wisdom and healing tools she’s gathered over a lifetime. She founded Love Thyself in 2011 to empower her community with the best holistic products, superfoods and medicine she can produce.
